ESA-NCB Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension

The awardee is presented with the plaque at the NCB Annual Meeting. The NCB Award Winner will be forwarded by the Award Committee to the ESA National Awards Committee for consideration for the National ESA Extension Entomology Award.

Eligibility

The nominee must be a current ESA member and have demonstrated excellent performance through program creativity, impact, achievement, and delivery.

Nomination Process

The submission of nominations must be made electronically (MS Word file or PDF) to the NCB National ESA Awards Chair.

The nomination package must include:

  1. Name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of nominee
  2. Letter of nomination that provides a brief explanation of how the individual excelled in performance of his/her duties, including innovations in training, programs, and methods
  3. Academic record (degrees received, dates, and institutions only)
  4. Summary of professional experience in extension, research, teaching, and related areas
  5. List of committee and special assignments
  6. List of printed extension/teaching materials (publications, news articles and columns, handbooks, magazine features, visuals, radio/TV scripts)
  7. List of student organizations, scholastic fraternities, and youth groups in which nominee has served in a leadership position
  8. List of memberships and offices held in honors societies
  9. Summary of leadership and participation in professional societies
  10. List of community activities
  11. Summary of awards, honors, and special recognitions received
  12. Letters of endorsement from professional colleagues and clientele

Deadline

Nomination packages must be received by the NCB National Awards Committee Chair by December 31.

Renomination

Any candidate nominated, but not selected, may be renominated by the Awards Committee. Renominations will follow the guidelines prescribed by the ESA National Office.

Notification

The awardee will be recognized at the Annual Meeting of the North Central Branch with an appropriate plaque presented by the NCB President.

The NCB Awards Committee Chair or NCB President will notify all candidates and their nominators with the results of their nomination.
