ESA-NCB Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching
The awardee is presented with a plaque at the NCB Annual Meeting. The NCB Award Winner will be forwarded by the Award Committee to the ESA National Awards Committee for consideration for the National ESA Teaching Award.
Eligibility
The awardee must have excelled through innovations in developing new courses, programs, and teaching methods.
Nomination Process
The submission of nominations must be made electronically (MS Word file or PDF) to the NCB National ESA Awards Chair.
The nomination package must include:
- Name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of nominee
- Letter of nomination containing a brief explanation of how the nominee excelled in performance of teaching-related duties
- Up to 6 letters of endorsement from professional colleagues, former students, or current students (not more than two from each)
- Academic record (degrees, dates, and institutions only)
- Summary of professional activities, including teaching, research, consulting, and other professional service
- Summary of awards, honors, and special recognition
- List of published books, scholarly articles, and teaching materials
- List of student organizations and scholastic fraternities to which nominee served as advisor
- Summary of other professional responsibilities or achievements, including committees or special assignments
- Memberships and offices held in honor societies
Deadline
Nomination packages must be received by the NCB National Awards Committee Chair by December 31.
Renomination
Any candidate nominated, but not selected, may be renominated by the Awards Committee. Renominations will follow the guidelines prescribed by the ESA National Office.
Notification
The NCB Awards Committee Chair or NCB President will notify all candidates and their nominators with the results of their nomination.
